Contemporary metal doesn't get much better or blistering than Lamb of God, something the quintet proves track-by-track on this latest offering. Armed with a bevy of furious riffs and perhaps even more furious vocals, the group tears through tracks such as "Walk with Me in Hell" and "Foot to the Throat" with a ferocity too-little-heard among the sea of bands that the group has inspired in its still-young career. Detractors will be tempted to fault the band for its lack of subtlety, but they're clearly missing the point. There are but a handful of young heavy bands worthy of carrying the proud torch of metal in this decade, and Lamb of God--along with The Esoteric and Totimoshi--is one of them. Just take a listen to "Again We Rise," "Requiem," or "Pathetic" and see if you don't agree. --Jedd Beaudoin

Very good April 12, 2010 N. Perz (St. Louis) While I haven't heard them all, this is possibly my favorite LoG so far. _Sacrament_ has a raw aggression that doesn't quite seem to be there on _Wrath_ or _Ashes_. There were some really good tracks on this disc; some really killer riffs too. Some, however, were just o.k. (which keeps me from giving this 5 stars). I think just about any metalhead would appreciate this album.
Recommended.
musical assault-oh yeah! February 17, 2010 steve w. (SO,CA.) another crushing release by L.O.G. any1 that likes metal will like this, if your not a fan to start with, keep moving along, nothing to see here.
a genuine waste of time February 13, 2010 Joseph Wallace (Savannah, TN United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I saw these guys in Nashville warming up for Metallica...I can see why they picked them...to make themselves look SOOOOO much better...because they are indeed...LOG literally lived up to their abbreviation and make me nod off to sleep on a couple of occasions during their set....and the lead singer appeared to be struggling to belt out the next line to whatever song they happen to be singing...these guys are just awful and anyone like "barbarian" who thinks differently and research a bit to discover what true metal sounds like...and believe me folks, this ain't it!
Epic December 31, 2009 Deimos (Alberta) This album is great, a true metal master work in every aspect. Amazing songs, vocals, riffs, solo's, drums it's all here in top form. This is a metal band that will lead metal into the future as the worlds best, most powerful, skillful music.
Continuing Improvement February 19, 2009 ol man metal (Tampa Bay, FL) I'm an older guy (approaching 50) and I saw these guys at a concert that I had gone to to see another band and they were incredible. They drew me in and I have become a huge fan. I have all of the CDs by LOG and, to me, they show they really are true musicians by the fact that they continue to improve from album to album (or whatever they call them these days). The killer guitar riffs that just keep spilling out of these guys and Chris Adler's drumming is amazing. In my opinion this effort is every bit as good as the last, if not better. You should definitely get it if you're a metalhead like me.
